Good late morning folks, I wonder if anyone can help with this please?
I’ve not long changed over from folding using 5.03 to the (SMP version on a Q6600) like a plonker I’ve screwed at least 5 Wus up by forgetfully clicking on the FAH short cut I keep on the desktop which starts FAH running while FAH is already running.
Unfortunately I’ve done the same yet again this morning, however on this occasion I immediately was aware that I’d done this, and closed the core down completely,
Does anyone know of a way I can retrieve this WU please
BTW I keep the FAH short cut on the desktop because if I didn’t, I’d forget to re-start FAH running after re-booting if I close the PC down
Thanks for any help

Re: Question re SMP WU
If the WU was deleted by the SMP client, IMO there is no way to get back to his WU. It was irreversibly lost to you, and it will be assigned to the other person to be fold.Does anyone know of a way I can retrieve this WU please
To be more safe in the case of accidentall stopping of the SMP client, I have set up a back-up procedure using standard Windows sheduler to copy the FAH folder into the other location every hour. In such cases, I have the possibility to roll back and continue folding of the WU (it is enough to copy back whole \WORK\ folder and the file queue.dat, at least it works for me and it allowed me not to lost any WU since a long time).
Try to make a folder on the desktop named for example FAH folder and place inside the shortcut to fah.exe. This would prevent you from incidentall starting fah, because before you start a program, you have to open the folder first It's a simple solution, but it works well for me.BTW I keep the FAH short cut on the desktop because if I didn’t, I’d forget to re-start FAH running after re-booting if I close the PC down
I hope that this helps.

Thank you zorzyk
What a great idea, and easy too, like all the best idea's are, I'm doing the same myself now.
Thank you again

Thanks again
Re: Question re SMP WU
We still do not know what causes error 0x7b -- other than the fact that SOMETHING caused Windows to kill the process. If you happen to notice that error after you just did XXX, be sure and let us know.*hondo* wrote:[09:31:06] CoreStatus = 7B (123)
