Certificates Generae w/ Points and WU Showing 0
I could not find the right topic or place for this, so if this is placed in the wrong place, please move it. Thank you.
I noticed by accident, just being silly one day and I clicked on the certificate link and it generated a picture that has all the information but shows the points and WU as zero on both certificates. I thought it was a temporary glitch or something, so I checked back on this several times throughout different days, weeks and times and consistently it comes back as zero. So not sure what's going but I wanted to let someone know to look into it.
thanks.

Re: Certificates Generae w/ Points and WU Showing 0
Just to add that its not just not showing it but when it does, its wrong. I direct you to this link:
User: Sample
Point: 123456
As you can see, its wrong, showing 5500:
Now the other one:
User: Sample
WUs: 10
As you can see, shows up right, but if you add a name that has any special characters, it will show 0 as you can see right after:
As a programmer, may I suggest that the parsing for u= to use quotations to capture the whole value, it seems that the special characters are breaking the parsing of the rest of the information, hence the 0 is returned as the value of the remaining information. Let me know if I can be of any assistance but given that the program name is Folding@Home, you figure that the @ will appear in some of the usernames, being an internationally supported program, it might also include unicode or possible other characters, might help to fix that. Just wondering.

If the username is an email address (not necesarily a valid one), the part after @ is hidden from the world although the stats accumulate under a separate id (username@obfuscateddomain). See http://folding.stanford.edu/English/Dow ... toc2
You may choose any name you like, as long as it contains only letters or numbers (to insert a space, you may use the underscore "_" character). If you choose your email address as your username, we will use the full email address but NOT print the full email address. Instead, just the part before the @ sign will be used in any stats listing, etc. User names are also case sensitive.
PS. Welcome to the forum

Re: Certificates Generae w/ Points and WU Showing 0
I believe the issue is being missed. I don't care about the username showing up in the list or being hidden or obfuscated but when it shows up on the certificate just fine but the credit is not there and showing 0, that's a coding problem and has nothing to do with the issue you replied, although thank you for the information, it might be useful some day, not relevant here.
As you can see, the certificate with the @ in the username is being shown with the correct username but only the points/wu portion is not being counted. Also the one that is using a single word to avoid the credit issue, is showing the wrong number, not sure where you are missing the point here. Can we get input from the admins that actually run the system and hopefully know what I am actually referring to?
Thank you for the welcome, BTW, I have been around for a while, just needed to post and had to register which is annoying since I don't post alot and now have another account to track and manage, thanks for the welcome though, I doubt I will ever break 10 posts here, if I do, it will be in regards to this or something similar much later, not going to be winning any awards for making posts or pumping my number

Re: Certificates Generae w/ Points and WU Showing 0
Hmm... Yes. The certificate link logic seems to have changed from the time I last checked it. It was the same as that for the donor stats page (which I'd mentioned above).
Can someone from the PG take a look at this?
User: Folding@Home
http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/mai ... aDq%40jvxw
The certificate links are 'open' i.e., mail ids are not hidden. I didn't want to use an actual email address as an example here but they behave the same way. The certificate shows 0 points/ WU.

Re: Certificates Generae w/ Points and WU Showing 0
I just checked it and the certificates that I saw were just fine with a 100,000 point certificate and a 490 WU certificate.dolphin(CPC) wrote:I am a nube and im sorry if this is in the wrong place. Thanks very much for checking, but I still show my certificates as zero when I go to them by status, my folding, certificate, page, do you think I am been directed to an old or wrong page.
Thanks for your assistance so far,
Kind regards Martin

Re: Certificates Generae w/ Points and WU Showing 0
That would be a good guess. I used the official stats link above; clicked on the donor statistics link; copy and pasted your username in the text box next to the search button and pressed search which came up with exactly one user and I then clicked on it. Then I clicked on both the certificate links and they come out just fine.dolphin(CPC) wrote:Thanks very much for checking, but I still show my certificates as zero when I go to them by status, my folding, certificate, page, do you think I am been directed to an old or wrong page.

If the above process does not work for you, may I suggest that you clean your browser cache. It may be that all your browser is doing is showing an old invalid cached page.

Re: Certificates Generae w/ Points and WU Showing 0
Mine is still coming up ZERO (0) and I used the official stat link above and I am sure its not and old page and it shows the name but says 0 instead of the actual amount it should be. Has ALWAYS been this way and has never been looked into when I reported it and nothing was done about it, still there.

Re: Certificates Generae w/ Points and WU Showing 0
If you folding name is GµårÐïåñ then I doubt that anything will show up. I believe that Standford has some guidelines for the username:
Source...You may choose any name you like, as long as it contains only letters or numbers (to insert a space, you may use the underscore "_" character). If you choose your email address as your username, we will use the full email address but NOT print the full email address. Instead, just the part before the @ sign will be used in any stats listing, etc. User names are also case sensitive...
