I finally finished my first work unit. There's only one problem: I'm unable to send it.

Here's the log file:

Welcome to the folding support forum, Mr. Chess.

You need to change the configuration of your client to remove the setting "Use IE Settings"

If you're running the GUI client, right click on the systray icon and select Configure ... and then Connection. Remove that one setting.

If you're running the Console client, temporarily add the -configonly parameter to end of the "Target" field (separated by a space) and restart the client. Say "no" to that option. Then restart normally.

Thank you, but now there's another problem:

Code: Select all

[23:08:37] + Attempting to send results
[23:08:37] - Presenting message box asking to network.
[23:10:13] - Server does not have record of this unit. Will try again later.
[23:10:13] Could not transmit unit 03 to Collection server; keeping in queue.
How can it "not have a record of this unit"? (For reference, the WU was "p4102_ww_folded_Amber03_Native")

While I'm here... my last WU was 1500 frames, and the one I have now is 2000. Should they be that huge?

Well, I checked the stats page, and it's been sent properly, so... I guess there's no problem now except deleting it from the queue.

Simply, you dont need to.

The client will use the next slot in the queue automatically and when that last slot is reached again, it will delete the contents then.

To no longer feel like a noob, read as many posts as you can, read the wiki, and feel free to ask questions. Enjoy your ride.

I don't think that's quite right. If one position in the queue is still filled after nine more WUs are processed, the client will come back to the same position in the queue but it will see that it is occupied and skip over it. The only way it might delete the one of the members of the queue would be if you had ten different WUs and none of them could be uploaded.

That will never happen. Before that happens, something will expire, and it will be deleted once the deadline passes.

OTOH, that's very accurate. :D . . . oh, and the Stanford FAQs too.
