Can a new team start linked to an existing user?

Post by MrKarst »

I have completed 908 work units using a user with no team (team=0). I am interested in creating a team to encourage family and friends to join me, and I would prefer to associate my existing user with the new team to show the work I've already completed. Is this possible? Also, I'd like the team name to be the same as the user name I've already used; are they mutually exclusive fields?

I hope my question makes sense. Thanks in advance for any help!

Team 0 is like a team ... and you can't bring your actual credit with you between teams : once credited to a username/teamnumber combination, it can't be changed.

So you'll have to start from scratch on your new team (your old credit will still be displayed, but it won't evolve).

Ok, that certainly makes sense. I was hoping to be able to show the progress I'd made as inspiration for people to join me, but I can still do that and create a new team.

Thanks for the speedy reply!

MrKarst, I am on a 2 man team, soon to be one man as the other half has indiated he will be selling his PS3 and other reasons. If you would like, I could join wth you to get the team points more rapidly and if appropriate move on when you can show your family what a great help their computers can be for science. I have 3 clients, speed is irrelevant to my side of the offer. Please let me know ASAP as I was looking for a team when I came across your message. Ron
