Re: how to pause the console client?
Aha, this is actually a good question: the console client will quit if you do a ctrl+C, but is there a "hotkey" to just pause it? That would be a big bonus for me, when I want to do some gaming and my GPU gets a bit unstable under certain games, while the GPU client is running. So I could ...

Hey now, don't jinx it for me - I just bought a PNY 9800 GTX (I think it's factory overclocked) - and I run it even furhter overclocked!! But I put the fan at 53%, so, fingers crossed...

Re: PNY F@H Contest - Free Prizes
Currently only for residents of the U.S. to participate in. It really pisses me off ... Unfortunately, there is one huge reason why that restriction is in place, and it is a world-wide reason: It's all about the TAXES that each of your Nanny-State Governments want. Well, how much taxe...

Thanks Shirts. I thought collection servers would be listed in the status page (as well).

128.143.48.227 ?
Why is my client trying to send to an (apparently) non-existing work server? Re: CPU or GPU Client?
. . . oh, and I don't know the answer to either of you questions. Thank you, Bruce. I read carefully and understand the implications of the rest of your post. And as for the questions regarding the affinity thing... anyone? I could, of course, just do a bit of trial-and-error runs. I tried setting ...

Re: CPU or GPU Client?
@old_fool: I don't think these newer clients need the -local parameter anymore; if it is, then you need to run the GPU console client with -local. Make sure you set the GPU client's Machine ID to something not equal to 1 or 2. Yeah, I went ahead and appended "-local" to the gpu client exe...

Re: CPU or GPU Client?
If one has 2 cores (and runs two console uniprocessor clients), and then wants to run a GPU client as well, what should he/she do? I had my two uniprocessor clients configured with machine ID 1 and machine ID 2, and started with command line option -local. Now that I am (trying to) run the console G...

Re: Question about research topic: beta-Amyloid unfolding
Kim, thank you very much for answering my post, which I thought will be unnoticed. After a first reading, I only understood half of it, but with regards to the beta Amyloid research you mention, it's puzzling how the Amyolid plaques were found also in persons who had no symptoms of AD whatsoever. My...

Question about research topic: beta-Amyloid unfolding
Is anyone using the F@H resources in beta-Amyloid folding/unfolding? How about research on cytokines, TNF-alpha receptors etc.? I trust that you guys know why I am asking these: I have a very close person suffering from early onset AD. It's devastating for him. Knowing that maybe some of my WUs go t...

Re: Can't upload WU since February 24th!
Thanks!
In any case, it isn't working for me. The FAIL status on 128.59.74.4 may have something to do with that.

Can't upload WU since February 24th!
Look guys, I know that you have talked about 171.65.103.100 a lot, lately, but hear me out for a second: this WU was completed on February 24th, and since then the above server has been always returning error 503. A look at the status page for this server says STATUS = CS 1 (whatever the heck that m...
