Re: folding with 2 gtx 980's problem
Hello. Yes I can confirm that removing the cpu slot made absolutely no difference to the PPD of the GPU's, however I did loose points as I lost the PPD from the cpu slot. So this has confirmed what Bruce and 7im thought that an i7 will drive 2 GPU's and fold itself without restricting the GPU's. Loo...

Re: folding with 2 gtx 980's problem
Big thankyou to everyone for replies and suggestions. Just for curiosity sake and to eliminate this as a cause, I will delete the cpu slot and see what happens, I'll let you know the results.
Thanks again everyone

folding with 2 gtx 980's problem
Hello I'm in need of some help. I've been folding for several years now and I recently upgraded my gfx card to a GTX 980 and coupled with my i7 I was getting between 200'000 and 360'000 PDD-great. Last week I installed another identical GTX 980, so I now have 2 cards folding, I downloaded and instal...

Re: Failed to access core package.
Hello all I had exactly the same problem with my CPU slot, I took bollix47's advice and just deleted the appropriate slot and then added it again and now all is well and my pc is happily folding again. No reboot required and I didn't have to stop the GPU slots folding either. Hope this helps and tha...

Re: how do i get most ppd
ok thanks for the feedback, it looks like I'll have to try various settings to see which yields greater average PPD.
Thanks again

Re: how do i get most ppd
ok I will give that a try, what about the settings in control panel, should I leave them at default or keep them at the cpu preferences to use 6 cores and set the gpu to advanced? I what to get the most efficient setting possible.

Re: how do i get most ppd
Hello and thanks for the replies.. My operating system is windows 8.1 and I am currently using the latest NVidia drivers which are 337.88, all I do is allow the GeForce experience to update whenever it's ready. 190k to 240k PPD from a 780Ti, wow, that's like 5 times as many PPD as my GTX 770 which o...

how do i get most ppd
Hello I would like to know what settings to apply in the advanced folding control panel to get maximum points per day. My system is a i7 4770, and a nvidia gtx 770. Currently I'm getting around 56,000 PPD, is this about right? I thought I should be getting more, around 80,000. I have changed the cpu...

Re: 7640 & 7643 PPD
My card came factory overclocked to 900MHz, I tried reducing the clock speed to the recommended speed of 822, but to still fails to finish these 7640 WU's. I've ram memtest and every other gpu, graphic card stress tester I could find and it always passes. Any other ideas, reasons you can think of? C...

Re: 7640 & 7643 PPD
Hi, yes ran memtestg80 for well over 4 hours using 850MB of ram,(the most it would let me do), no errors found. When runningthe 7640 WU's, my GPU was only running at 92%. Is this normal, could that be why it keeps failing on these?

Re: 7640 & 7643 PPD
hello, yes, the artic cooler came with plenty of heatsinks which I've stuck over all the vrm's and memory chips, there is also plenty of air going through the case, 3 intake fans and 3 exhaust fans, cooling is not an issue. Since my last post, the GPU has successfully completed an 8019, 2 x 8006, an...

Re: 7640 & 7643 PPD
Hello, Tried the gpu at the recommended clocks last night but unfortunatley it still failed to finish a 7640 WU, again it said 'mdrun_gpu returned 52' 'NANs detected on GPU', it did however complete 8036 wu, as it always does, it only ever fails on the 7640 WU. Its not an overheating problem as I've...

Re: 7640 & 7643 PPD
ok thanks for response and suggestions.
I did try reducing overclock to 850 last night but again failed at 60%, I'll ry today at the 822 Core, hopefully this will cure the problem.

Re: 7640 & 7643 PPD
Hello please help. since the new 7640 wu came out, my gpu has only completed about 2 unit, but failed over 8 times saying Nans detected on gpu unstable machine. My gpu is a gtx 560 ti, I have 8 GB ram and an overclocked 2500k, (overclocked to 4.3, which also folds reliably) i've been folding for man...
