Linux Newbie - how to: DL/install - 7.6.9
Hi, As previously disclosed, I'm not Linux guy at all - but that's the box I'm running one of my FoldingAtHome sets on (because: GPU). I'm running FAH 7.4.4. In https://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=34466 it's announced that a C-19 sepecific v. has been released. But I can't find it for ...

Re: What can I do with the points?
I mainly see them as a handy metric for how my son's 2018 6 core (12 thread) + GeForce GPU is beating the pants off of my 2012 iMac i7 4 core (8 thread) whose GPU us not usable for folding....

Thanks for the replies. Good to know all that hard work doesn't end up in a bit bucket!

Collection Server: 0.0.0.0 (?)
I have a large GPU job finishing in 20 minutes or so.
The Collection Server address is 0.0.0.0. That's obviously not good.
Will the job result be sent to the Work Server? (52.224.109.74)?

Re: Linux/Ubuntu/Nvidia GeForce - won't GPU
@PantherX All is well. Now indicating CPU 10. I don't care much about VNC sluggishness - just to take a look see from time to time. When I mentioned it it was because I was on this website from the Linux box, but using VNC to access the forum from my Mac (Mac -- VNC/VNC -- Linuxbox ... forum). Thenc...

Re: Rationale for GPU WUs granting 20x more points than CPUs
Personally I've just set up hardware to maximally do C-19 jobs and I don't really care much about points. Yes, the combined GPU + CPU on my son's 2018 PC (6 cores * 2 threads) is shellacking my 2012 i7 iMac (4 cores x 2 threads) - no compatible GPU, by a wide margin ... but that's beside the interes...

Re: Linux/Ubuntu/Nvidia GeForce - won't GPU
@PantherX : it's actually showing "cpu:11" rather than 12 that it had before. I'm on my iMac VNC-ing to the PC with the GPU. It's quite sluggish - which it wasn't yesterday - I guess the GPU load is part of that since VNC is reporting the screen to the Mac. If I force the cpu count to 10, ...

Re: Linux/Ubuntu/Nvidia GeForce - won't GPU
Hi Bruce, Thanks for looking into this. I did notice that - but assumed "it's FAH!" (can't be me right?). I believe I installed the NV Proprietary driver (or Ubuntu did when it installed and updated such). Do I want the proprietary or "built-in" driver? Built-in to what? Ubuntu? ...

Linux/Ubuntu/Nvidia GeForce - won't GPU
Preamble: I've got folding going on my 2012 iMac. GPU is "enabled" but it's all CPU for FAH. (i7 4 cores x 2 threads/core). Issue: I took the HD out of my son's gaming PC and threw in an "old" HD. Installed Ubuntu 20.latest. Nvidia Geforce 1050 Ti. Downloaded latest drivers from ...
