Re: I may need some client config help in a VM

My suggestion would be to try processing on 8 CPU threads. The host OS should be able to schedule the VM to run on just a single processor and utilize just the main CPU core for each thread instead of sharing the FPU using HT. The 10053 errors in older versions of the client were coming from the co...

Re: I may need some client config help in a VM

When you say its allowed 9ghz is it count that as 4 threads at 2.1 or 9 threads 1 each? Sounds like it may be limited to the performance of a 4 core cpu. If so that may be all the speed you get. I've never played with vm's before so no idea, just guessing. Essentially, we tell the hypervisor to onl...

Re: I may need some client config help in a VM

The CPU speed makes sense. The VM is reporting to be using upwards of 2.10 GHz, but I will assume the actual usage reads that way in ESXi because the host hardware needs that to support all 16 cores at 2.10 GHz. That makes sense in my head. lol What can I do to further investigate?

Re: I may need some client config help in a VM

Right, so without the estimated bonus, why is this VM with 16 cores at 8 GHz performing about half as well as my laptop with only 8 cores at a burst of 3.6 GHz? Is this just expected with VM overhead?

Re: I may need some client config help in a VM

PantherX, thank you for jumping in! Below is the log from the VM. I noticed "ERROR:Receive error: 10053: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine." repeating after each step is completed... After letting it run overnight, the current estimate is 13431 PPD ...

I may need some client config help in a VM

Hey all, I just created a fresh Windows 10 Pro x64 VM (ESXi hosted) and I'm getting really low WU performance. If anyone is familiar with running F@h in a virtual environment, I would welcome some tips. 16 vCPUs; 2 sockets Backed by a Xeon Silver 4110 @ 2.10 GHz The VM is allowed up to 9 GHz and it'...
