Wild guess...

Seems the apperance in preferences is set to adwaita.
But maybe the adwaita theme is not installed anymore on your distro..
So install adwaita (again) and try, wether it works....

Addendum,
it seems, the default theme cannot be loaded also...

Your personal data is in etc/fahclient/config.xml. Linux, of course... So save this file for using in a new distibution, if you install one... fachcontrol depends on python2, whereas ubuntu 20.04 uses python3. That is the reason why fahcontrol doesnt work, unless there will be a update of Fah. So you can use only the client, change settings via the web control and change further settings in /etc/fahclient/config.xml

also with 7.6.9 the password is stored in written form (linux here) in etc/fahclient/config.xml

Got a new WU for GPU just half on hour before, and 1 minute before a new WU for CPU.
client-type is set to advanced.
