Re: BSOD then FAH won't start
I suspect the problem was either the config.xml file or the nVidia driver.... I did a driver update (I was only one version behind) and then uninstalled FAH including delete data. After a reinstall, and reboot, I'm back up and running. CPU temp is 62C at 100%, and GPU 71C. I've been Folding for 5 mi...

Re: BSOD then FAH won't start
Thanks for the advice. It's not likely to be the cooler since I upgraded it about 2 weeks ago from the stock cooler. I'll keep an eye on temps to be sure, but I can guarantee the fan is is running due to the window in my case. I'll try the suggestions of the config XML and also reinstall without sav...

Re: BSOD then FAH won't start
Update: I've reinstalled and restarted without any changed behaviour. I can't get past the "Connecting to Folding at Home" browser page. Is it possible that Windows has recognised the .exe files as responsible for the crash and is now preventing them from running? If so, how would I go abo...

BSOD then FAH won't start
Hi, I've been folding for a few months now across a few PCs (Win10) and enjoying contributing. I had an issue recently where once I started Folding, my PC crashed with a BSOD (within seconds of starting folding). After restarting (many restarts), I can't get F@H to start. When using the F@H shortcut...

Re: Gpu isn't detected on last stable version 7.6.9
The issue is that the client doesn't detect any GPU as shown below: 05:41:42: GPUs: 0 I would suggest that you manually download the GPUs.txt file from here: https://apps.foldingathome.org/GPUs.txt (right-click save as GPUs.txt) Exit the client Copy the GPUs.txt file from the Downloads folder to C:...

Re: Top GPUs for Folding@Home
I'm curious to know what drives top performance? Is it # of CUDA / Stream cores, or clock speed? Looking at the google doc sheets, it looks like the nVidia xx80 series (eg 2080, 1080, 980) generally outperform the xx70 (eg 2070, 1070, 970) and likewise the xx60 series (2060, 1060) in that order. Wha...

Re: The worst software I have ever seen.
Wow! :D I've been running F@H for a bit over 2 weeks on my laptop. The first day or two getting the slots configured right was tricky but there was heaps of help on the forums - running searches and reading a lot is how I solved my issues. I'm surprised my laptop has held up so well. F@H maxes out m...
