Re: Why deleting a work unit is bad
I agree that 80% sounds lax on its face, however I can also say I was thankful it WAS that lax just recently. I tried to run smp (n - 1) on a dual xeon box recently. Might have been smp -15 on a dual nehalem system if I recall. The end result was approximately 150 instant EUEs over the course of a f...

Re: Folding pratices guideline
SMP - 1.We strongly suggest people run this client on 4-core boxes. While it will run on 2-core boxes, we have noticed some potential problems (we are looking into these issues now). Your point is valid, however nothing further has ever been said about 2-core limitations on SMP, to my knowledge. An...

Re: 130.237.232.140
Actually, I don't know if this is helpful or hurtful, but it appears I may have resolved the issue on my end. First I uninstalled then reinstalled. No luck. I uninstalled again, but this time reinstalled to a new folder on my hard drive. Now it works. So, it appears something may have been fouled up...

I got rid of the SMP 6 flag, and advmethods flag. Now the error is different. Re: 130.237.232.140
I have another machine running the same setup, and it just pulled work from the same server. The first machine is a Q6600, set to smp -4, advmethods. It's the one that's getting work just fine. The one that is struggling is an AMD Thuban set to smp -6, also with advmethods. Is the AMD CPU being disc...

Re: 130.237.232.140
Thanks. I've tried a handful of client and PC restarts. I even tried changing up the flags to see if I could trigger being assigned to a new server, but nothing seems to have worked. # Windows SMP Console Edition ################################################# #####################################...
