Wow. Very interesting. Looks like we're starting to make some headway on understanding this thing. Great!!

Re: Intel® HD Graphics
I know, right? Like I'm definitely ready for what's next. Obviously COVID is top priority, but once we've solved that, we still have roughly 15x the power we had 5 months ago, so it'll be interesting to see the kind of progress that can be made with our current 1.5 ExaFLOPS of compute.

Re: Privacy concerns about Folding@home
Point is, they need our help, because there is no way, as others have mentioned, to get the kind of computing power they need on the budget they're given by the government.

Re: Failing to SEND completed work unit
According to a thread about the servers I read recently, "Assign" means both assign and accept. "Accept" means accept only.

Re: Failing to SEND completed work unit
I have read that their main issue right now is indeed the reception of completed work units (Note: I'm not affiliated with FAH, I'm a community member just like you). I am in the same boat, with the same error message. Hopefully some of the new servers coming online will be able to reduce the pressu...

Re: FAHViewer operation
I do not know, however there are several threads about current issues with the viewer, and certain projects that are coming out are not working with the viewer either. From what I understand, there needs to be software work done, which inevitably carries the risk of bugs wreaking havoc, and given th...

Re: It's getting better now, isn't it?
I am experiencing prolonged (hours-long) gaps in between WUs much less than I used to. Many thanks to the good people working hard to get these servers up and running!

Re: Server Status - What it means
What do the different shadings of servers mean? As in, why are some grayed out and others not?

Re: Are you really out of Cancer, Alzheimer, Huntington's?
If you select “any” under which disease you want to support, and they run out of COVID-19 WUs, then you will get whatever other WUs are available. The other WUs are in short supply due to the focus on the Coronavirus and the large increase in the number of folders. But rest assured that eventually y...

Re: High Throughput Resources
I'm just a normal community member, so I can't help with the first one, but based on what I have seen on the forums over the last few years, they typically don't like pre-downloading (caching) WUs, there are a couple of posts out there about why that is bad, though COVID-19 has changed a lot, so you...

Re: FAH Bench with Core 22?
Thanks guys! Glad to hear there is a CUDA version of Core_22 coming, should hopefully speed things up on my 1660Ti. From what I have read, there is some overhead between OpenCL and CUDA because OpenCL code must be converted to CUDA to run on Nvidia GPUs. Thanks for the heads up!

Re: Coronavirus Disease -COVID-19
I have an AMD R9 380, is this too old to be used for folding? Nope! You should be good to go, as it looks like it supports double precision calculations. Note that this is just a result from a quick Bing search, I'm also not affiliated with FAH so don't quote me on this, I'm just a contributor. But...

Re: Can you add corona virus to the options?
The researchers are trying to spin up additional servers and projects as fast as they can. FAH is currently trying to cope with more than 10 times is usual donor base that has come on line pretty much at the same time. The 2 labs involved in the project are working as fast as they can. please bear ...
