Re: PCI-e bandwidth/capacity limitations
Recent data in that the thread suggest - the performance is much stronger influence by latency, rather than the bus width. That is why I want to repeat the question: Is it possible to eliminate this bottleneck, by reducing latency requirements? For example, by the GPU job queue formed CPU cycles or ...

Re: PCI-e bandwidth/capacity limitations
Is it possible to organize some kind of queue in OpenCL, and preload data? Perhaps due to the processing of two or more threads on a single GPU. Cost of multigpu system essentially depends on the required bus bandwidth. The other day I saw the description and photo 12 Radeon GPU system on a single S...

Re: BIOS Update
Upgrading the motherboard BIOS, usually does nothing, and it is not necessary if the manufacturer's website as indicated for your case. Regarding the graphics card firmware is different case. The update can significantly improve operation of the device. But the video card manufacturer's website is a...

Re: PCI-e bandwidth/capacity limitations
Xeon E5-2609 v4 has only 40 PCIe lines. If there is no PCIe switch on this motherboard, the video cards have at most eight PCIe lines each. Bus load is typical for such number of lines.

MultiGPU problem
Almost every reboot, I see in the log messages, such as: 14:51:48:ERROR:FS01:OpenCL device not found for 'opencl-index' = 3 with vendor ID = 0x10de, plese correct this by removing the manually configured 'opencl-index' option. 14:51:48:ERROR:FS03:'opencl-index'=2 is in use by another folding slot bu...

Charmingly. They have favourite bugs. I do not think they will be easy to part with it.

Re: PCI-e bandwidth/capacity limitations
Two PSU 500-600 watt power is also cheaper than the one on the 1000-1200 watts. Two casess, if need any, less expensive than ordering a special frame for the graphics cards on raisers. And it cheaper than 4 liquid-cooled graphics card, plus an external heat sink. We can talk about a slight increase ...

Re: PCI-e bandwidth/capacity limitations
According to my calculations, the cost of a new motherboard with four full-fledged PCIe x16 slots and powerful processor will exceed the cost of two budget motherboards with two PCIe x16 slots each and two cheap dual-core processors. Boards with two cards do not require a special risers and housing....

Re: 171.67.108.105 / 46
I have a problems with the same subnet now. One WU able to upload more than a day. The other two were downloaded for 10-20 minutes. The card is idle.
This was before too. I think, I will just deny connections to server in this network. On the other servers I do not have such problems.

x4 slot slowing too. According to FAHBench results 2-10%. Using real results of the calculations are not correct for compare. Depending on the cores and different workunits performance can float by +-10% or more. In addition, PPD affected by state of the network, servers load, and a lot of other fac...

Re: PCI-e bandwidth/capacity limitations
FAHbench show significant performance loss if I connect one GTX 1070 card to PCIe 3.0 x1 slot. Depending on test pattern - 9%-47% low performance. And 75-85% bus controller load on this card.
Something similar occurs in the processing of real jobs by core 21.
Win 10. Asrok B150 motherboard.

Re: WARNING ! Do not upgrade to 375.xx drivers.
Security problems and potential vulnerability drivers are relevant for those who, for some reason, launches a lot of untrusted downloaded from the network code on their machine.
If so, then updates are needed.
But this is specific type of activities.
