Re: Is this GPU too weak to bother with?
I am currently running CPU on 6 threads Assume the other 2 CPU threads are there to assist the GPU? If this fails I will contemplate getting a better gpu to use for folding while using my old 8400 GS to simply drive the monitors. Assume you can do this - have 2 gpu cards in a machine and leave one f...

Re: Is this GPU too weak to bother with?
I left the machine running both CPU and GPU overnight, the points per day was at about 17000 - the same as with just the CPU folding. This was with the CPU slot set to -1 as far as thread usage - I assumed the client knows best how to allocate threads however if I set the CPU threads to 6 is this so...

Re: Is this GPU too weak to bother with?
Have re-einstalled the client as a non service. And so far results look bad. The GPU is running but my points per day are down to about 8000 as apposed to about 17000 which was when I was running just the CPU. Also the time allotment to complete the GPU task is about 3 days which will never be met e...

Re: Is this GPU too weak to bother with?
I will wait for the current WU to complete and then install the client not as a service.
Will then give the GPU a go.

Re: Is this GPU too weak to bother with?
Is this the problem then - it is running gpu as a service? I assume I will have to reinstall the client if this is the case
How do I determine if the client is running as a service and not as a normal program?
I have just downloaded the very latest Nvidia drivers.

Re: Is this GPU too weak to bother with?
In the Folding slots section of FAH control
the gpu is listed but status reads: Paused:no gpu access
Does this mean it is essentially idle and won't be called on to do any work?
DOes it need any specific configuration? or should I just give up and remove it from the slot?

Re: GPU workunits given too short time to complete
My computer is left on 24/7 and is always connected to the internet. In the past - before disabling the GPU - I was starting the FAH client when I went home at 5pm and stopping it at 8am due to the fact that if both CPU and GPU were enabled the computer would be too slow to use - primarily being unr...

Re: GPU workunits given too short time to complete
Thanks for the response. I will disable the GPU and just continue with the CPU. Also, when both CPU and GPU are enabled for folding the computer is unusable for other work. With the GPU disabled I can still fold in the background while working on the computer. Surely there are enough of us out there...

Re: GPU workunits given to short time to complete
The driver is NVIDIA 320.57 Note, I had to delete some lines to fit in the 60,000 character limit. Deleted lines of the form "20:39:54:WU02:FS01:0xa4:Completed 140000 out of 250000 steps (56%)" which are just showing completion status. *********************** Log Started 2014-05-08T15:23:4...

GPU workunits given too short time to complete
I leave my work computer on for folding overnight( 5pm - 8am) and leave it running over the weekend.
The GPU work units do not have enough time to complete.
e.g. currently have project 13000 and timeout is 15/05 and the ETA is 9.45 days.
Where do I start finding out what is wrong?
