Re: GPU/CPU folding approach theoretical max system power dr
Thanks for the thorough sharing of your thoughts- I read through all of it and will keep some if it in mind to be certain when looking at planning for future folding rigs. I should clarify, I did actually use a PSU calculator that accounts for the CPU overclock (although not GPU), and gave myself ~2...

Re: Folding with CPU plus both Nvidia and AMD GPU slots?
Thanks guys- well noted that the beta testing isn't something that is promoted to be taken on "just 'cause" and I can see the reason why it would set a bad example for other situations in the future to troubleshoot beta clients for anyone who asks. Although I would imagine everyone on the ...

GPU/CPU folding approach theoretical max system power draw?
Hey guys, I am trying to figure out the ballpark on just how much power is actually being used by my folding machines without having to go get a meter and test them all just for the rough estimate. Basically I know what a PSU calculator will tell me each rig would need at 100% load across the whole ...

Folding with CPU plus both Nvidia and AMD GPU slots?
Hey, I am sure this has been covered to some degree in the past if I were to search around, but with the Core 17 changing the CPU drain and point capability of the AMD cards so much, I don't know if any of that would still be relevant. I have all my folding systems pulled apart right now to try clea...

Re: Re: Low price GPUs
Just adding a late $.02 to the topic. I've got a few high-end AMD/Radeon cards that I fold with, but obviously those aren't ideal. The beta WU's that just came out and run without a devoted core are certainly a step forward, but I still consider whatever I milk from those GPU's as a nice surprise. I...

Re: Lost WU's configuring folding rigs- any QRB help?
^^^ Thanks a million for clarifying that for me! I tried to get the information via search engine, but it was too difficult to come up with clear results for what qualifies as a "failed" WU. I had assumed that once the assignment was uploaded to your client, it counted as an attempt... tha...

Re: Lost WU's configuring folding rigs- any QRB help?
Well, a fair number were lost when I had the system crash due to instability (BSOD or just unexpected restart). Often when this happened, for some reason the client would give me error message when trying to restart, and I had to remove and freshly run the whole FAH installer again. A few other time...

Lost WU's configuring folding rigs- any QRB help?
Hey guys, I'm new to this- just heard about it a few weeks ago and dove right in because it seems like a noble cause. The mistake I made was trying to run the F@H client on my systems that were all overclocked and stable when used for normal gaming/computing. I quickly realized that folding caused a...
