Re: Segfault on Project: 19230 (Run 6802, Clone 20, Gen 0)
No any issues with any R-C-G of P19230 with my setup. With different distro though - Mint 21.3 with kernel 6.5, few days ago updated to kernel 6.8, but still no new P19230 with this updated kernel. It's fastest CPU project that my hardware ever received.

Re: AM5 thermals too high
I’ve been playing with BOINC with my CPU’s. It’s cpu control is a much needed improvement that F@H should adopt. Actually it's no so with BOINC. You have just 2 numbers for CPU control from 1 to 100. First number for how many of CPU threads one will use, but it may be counterituitive, because one n...

Re: Ryzen 5000 thermals
Mine 5600x stepping 0 undervolted with '-" offset sign by 0.08175 volts, losing only ~25 MHz from stock allcore clock, but dropping 7-8 C compared to "auto" voltage without any undervolting. 3 days without any errors with core 0xA8. It crunching with simple 4 heatpipes aircooler with ...

Re: Fast GPU, not enough CPU power to keep up?
It would be better if Folding stored the data on the GPU, but perhaps the computation makes this impossible. GPU VRAM due to it proximity to massive hot chip and hot VRM MOSFETs and due to higher VRAM clocks - usually is much hotter than system RAM. So when not having ECC on GPU VRAM - as it with p...

It just werks with Mint 21 based on Ubuntu 22.04, I suppose it should work in Ubuntu 23, also with other .deb based distros:

Re: Alder Lake results
This is interesting, my 9700X folding at 17 threads and a nosehair under 4GHz all cores/165W package TDP (any more and it hits upwards of 95C on air cooling and likely phantom throttles - it runs 88-90C as it is typically) 7900х have thermal paste under his heatspreader. Deliding it and replacing t...

Re: Strange crash/reboot and CMOS corruption only with F@H
It might be worth mentioning that I did not overclock the CPU or GPU, and that the temps for the CPU were about 70C when running all 32 threads, which is acceptable. The GPU was around 82C, which is also in the acceptable range. I don't think that 82C at GPU is in acceptable range for any reasons. ...

Re: Fah under BOINC?
Boinc WCG works with no problem under Linux Mint 20, both CPU at all available threads and GPU WCGc tasks simultaneously, while FAH 7.6.21 crunched GPU only tasks. WCG GPU tasks are rare and fast, longing for 3-10 minutes, so when they were crunched - FAH GPU PPD falls for 30-50% for few minutes whe...

and 1506 MHz for the 1070 @ 150W). Nope, mine GTX 1070 at 1506 MHz in Windows have 80W powerdraw, because voltage drops significantly and power draw depends on voltage with power of two and depends on clocks linearly with power of one. Gated to 150W GTX 1070 will have clocks between 1950 and 2000 M...

Has anyone noticed adverse effects of running F@H long term such as damage to any computer hardware? Re: Χ99 EVGA FTW-K-i7 5960X 8cores
Wonder how single board 5 aircooled GPUs setup should look nowadays for not frying any of cards with their dissipated heat. Something like caseless horizontal big open frame, with cards at PCIe x16 > 2x PCIe x8 risers, positioned safely above motherboard, with 3 fans of each GPU looking down and bac...

Basically both Quadro and Team Red pro cards designed for working in different thermal loads when cards working in pro applications: it's not continuous 95-100% chip load during hours of gaming, it's somewhat different mode say roughly 50% of time chip have high utilization and other roughly 50% of...
