Re: Strange Error Messages
Sound like some trouble with some security software blocking local communication. Looks your FAHControl run on the same computer. 127.0.0.1 as IP address indicate that. Do you some local port scan at the same time ? Any other software using port 36330 on that system (which is also used by FAHContro...

Strange Error Messages
What is going on with my machine here? Can anyone help me fix this? It does not stop me from folding but something wrong seems to be going on behind the scenes. Thanks! *********************** Log Started 2015-02-12T01:19:16Z *********************** 01:19:16:************************* Folding@home Cl...

Uploading WU failing
I have finished a WU but find in the log continual failure to upload the results. Anything I can do to get this fixed? I have tried uploading the results both at home and at my work location, both with no success. *********************** Log Started 2014-04-17T00:23:16Z *********************** 00:23...

Re: Best F@H System in PPD for $1000
Hello, I was curious, if you guys had $1000, what rig would you build to get the most PPD for that amount of money. Well for a folding rig that also can be a general purpose one I would get a 2nd hand cheapo with a good PSU and whack a GTX 780ti in it. The card costs around $US 700 depending on whe...

Re: Where is the heat?
Thanks for the feedback. I am impressed at the new laptop's folding power. I just broke into the top 4% of all folders based on rank. All with just two Dell laptops running 24x7.

Where is the heat?
For the bulk of my folding, I used a Dell laptop with a Core2Duo processor, rated at 2.4 ghz. When this computer folds, it gets up to 90 C easily unless it is wintertime when part of my apartment is not heated. After it hits 90 C the CPU downclocks, first to 1.5 ghz, and then down to 0.8 ghz. This a...

Re: URGENT HELP NEEDED!
Ok Thanks. Glad to know that this problem can't happen again. What an amazing shock that was. I guess I had not rebooted my Mac in several months. What an eye opener that was.

Re: URGENT HELP NEEDED!
Thank you for directing me to the uninstaller. Stupid question here: Is installing the uninstaller actually uninstalling FAH? Boy that's a mouthful! I Installed the uninstaller but cannot find any program to run after that has completed. Is that it or do I need to do more?

Re: URGENT HELP NEEDED!
I looked for, but could not find any uninstall program to run to remove FAH on my Mac. So i just deleted every file I could find related to FAH. I ended up solving the problem that way. Is there any way I can wipe out EVERYTHING? I dont want FAH on my Mac.
Thank you for your help.

Re: URGENT HELP NEEDED!
Update: I solved the problem by finding the launch daemon for Folding at Home and deleting that. I dont know what is wrong with FAH on the Mac. I killed the process with the Activity Monitor and it would start right back up in 5 seconds. That's just flat out wrong. Awful code. I lost total control o...

Re: URGENT HELP NEEDED!
Can you not just open Activity Monitor, highlight FAHClient or FAHCore_a4 and click on the red Quit Process button? Yes. The problem is (now was) every time I force quit the core, IT STARTED RIGHT BACK UP!!! I ended up finding the Launch Daemon and deleting that. Now the problem seems gone. My god ...

Re: URGENT HELP NEEDED!
I have deleted every last file related to folding at home on my Mac. All library folders are gone. Everything. Yet the CPU it totally maxed out and my temps well over 100 C. This is like the worst virus imaginable. By far the worst Mac experience I have ever had. Please HELP.
