Re: Trouble getting a new Work Unit
Alas, a simple reboot of my router and I'm folding again. Thanks for the reply Bollix, I had rebooted the PC a few times but for some reason didn't think of my router being the issue. So it was definitely a problem (likely DNS related) on my end.

Trouble getting a new Work Unit
At some point in the middle of the night as I was finishing up workunits on my CPU (3570K) and GPU (R9 280x) and they uploaded fine but I was never able to get new work units. Here is a little snippet of the log file where it started. But for both CPU and GPU I've been idle for a few hours and in my...

Re: 7970: Getting failure "Unstable_Machine" on stock clocks
Yeah I successfully cranked out two WU's since adding some voltage and I am watching it like a hawk. I took apart my GPU and added some Cool Labs Liquid Pro, at full usage during folding I'm at 55C which is great for a reference card IMO. So I could add more voltage if need be. I just wanted to make...

Re: 7970: Getting failure "Unstable_Machine" on stock clocks
It might have actually been GPU stability, I bumped the voltage up slightly on the stock clocks and so far 30% through a work unit. We shall see.

Re: 7970: Getting failure "Unstable_Machine" on stock clocks
I'm using 12.11b, I thought it would be fine as long as I used the APP SDK 2.7 or 2.8 installed seperately. I guess I could try 12.8 drivers but it will kill my gaming performance

7970: Getting failure "Unstable_Machine" on stock clocks
I noticed that my progress was always below 10% completion then I realized it was because I kept restarting new projects so I checked the logs. Then I reset my GPU to stock settings and still get this error.. 01:34:16:WU00:FS00:0x16:Assembly optimizations on if available. 01:34:16:WU00:FS00:0x16:Ent...

Re: 7870 usage help
Hey Bruce, thank you for the reply. I actually have it running fine on 12.8 drivers. GPU usage fluctuates from 60-100% but its better than being stuck at 40%. My PPD went from about 3K to 9K and that is great. For people with a similar problem here is my remedy. If you installed any AMD Catalyst dri...

7870 usage help
Hey I'm sorry for being redundant but I followed a couple of guides to fixing the usage issue for 7970s but they don't seem to work for my card. My GPU usage is stuck around 40% no matter what drivers I use. I tried 12.11, 12.10, 12.9, 12.8, and 12.6. Each time I uninstalled the previous driver, ran...

Re: Sapphire HD7870
I'm pretty sure I have Virtu disabled on my other rig. But I just got an FX-8150 as a gift from a friend and since I don't have a GPU for it yet I'm using the HD7870. I just added the GPUs.txt to the FAHClient folder and my 7870 works. So it has something to do with my other motherboard or CPU setup...

Re: Sapphire HD7870
Hmm, 12.1, 12.4, 12.6, and beta 12.7 didn't work. I think I'll just stick to the CPU.
I thought it might boost my PPD because when I had 6950's in CF-X I was pulling about 40K PPD.

Re: Sapphire HD7870
I dont know that 12.1 works with the HD7000 series. I swept all the drivers and installed 12.1 and didn't recognize my card. I'll try a different version.

Re: Sapphire HD7870
Roger that, it's worth a shot. I get about 14K PPD with just the i5 @ 4.3GHz. Was hoping to get up a little more though. Ill post back with my results.

Re: Sapphire HD7870
I use 12.6. If I have to rollback that far then I guess I just wont fold with the GPU. 12.6 was a major improvement for this cards performance and 12.7 is supposed to be even more of a boost. I'll check back when 12.6 becomes folding friendly I suppose. Thanks for all your help.
