Re: Windows 8
I have a problem too. Just downloaded F@h on Win 8 Enterprise Evaluation but it has not shifted off the 'connecting' state.

Are results, conclusions or effects available ?
I would like to cheer my F@h team on and encourage others to join. Is there somewhere I can point folks to that explains some concrete benefit that has come out of the research ? It's all very well to tell people that this could accelerate the cure for cancer, but are there any benefits that humanki...

Re: How to limit CPU use
That seems to be doing it, thanks. Although all 12 cores are in use, the total is down to 83% and performance of other apps has improved. The priority of 'slightly higher' seems to be ignored like the CPU %. Limiting core slots seems to be the way to go.

How to limit CPU use
I have the opportunity to run F@h on a server with a 6 core (12 allowing for hyperthreading) i7 CPU, but only if it does not interfere with normal work. Alas, it does - it causes the mouse to be jumpy and entered text to buffer up then spit out a chunk at a time. I have allowed it to retain the lowe...

Re: Nvidia 296.10 WHQL drivers fail
I hope readers agree that this is the most appropriate place to report that I too have problems with 296.10 drivers, but perhaps a little different from others who have posted here. My problem is that at seemingly random points throughout the day different projects hang reporting 99.99% completion i...

Re: Configuration ineffectual causing performance degradatio
Thank you for the replies. Having run with different settings I now think that there is no more than a weak relationship between the configuration settings and program resource demands - at least for smp machines. I have not yet tried this on another PC - perhaps one without available GPU. The smp ...

Configuration ineffectual causing performance degradation
I have just installed fah on my Windows 7 64bit PC and find that it is causing a noticeable delay in my day-to-day work. I have tried limiting smp threads to 6 and CPU usage to 90% but all 4 cores are still permanently 100% busy. I have restarted the PC since setting this up. What have I missed plea...
