Re: Project 8900 WORK_QUIT (404)
I hope you can forgive resurrecting the thread, but I think I finally found the solution and wanted to provide the epilogue - it was the RAM. I had been running the system with all four slots populated with 4GB each (DDR3-1600). While this setup worked on my old i5-860/P55 system, it was generating ...

Re: Project 8900 WORK_QUIT (404)
Well that wasn't much of an improvement - since the last update, EVERY work unit the GPU slot grabs, be it p7810, 7811, or 8900, ends with a WORK_QUIT(404) message. Backing down the drivers to 13.9 hasn't helped, nor has setting an exclusion for the work folders in my antivirus (MSE). I'm not quite ...

Re: Project 8900 WORK_QUIT (404)
Thanks Roswell. If I continue to have issues the next time my card picks up an 8900, I might just back down to 13.9 and give it another shot.

Re: Project 8900 WORK_QUIT (404)
Still seeing a WORK_QUIT on most of the p8900s; every now and then one will complete successfully but I haven't seen a pattern yet. I updated the drivers last night to 13.11 beta 9.2, but for the time being the card is back to crunching p7810/7811s and doing just fine at it, with the exception of a ...

Re: Project 8900 WORK_QUIT (404)
This is what I have so far in 01/01/log.txt when I drill down into the work directory: Project: 8900 (Run 610, Clone 5, Gen 7) Unit: 0x0000000d028c126651a6ae6aecb113b3 CPU: 0x00000000000000000000000000000000 Machine: 0 Reading tar file state.xml Reading tar file system.xml Reading tar file integrato...

Re: Project 8900 WORK_QUIT (404)
Added it to the GPU slot section in the config.xml. I'll check back on it later today after the current WU (p8900) completes.

Re: Project 8900 WORK_QUIT (404)
UPDATE: Backed drivers down to 13.4 - it was too late to save the work unit that was in progress, but the next work unit, another p8900, completed successfully. The p8900 after that one, however, did not. GPU temps have been hovering in the upper 60s C. 17:32:12:WU00:FS00:Starting 17:32:12:WU00:FS00...

Re: Project 8900 WORK_QUIT (404)
No errors seen while running FAHBench. OpenCL single precision explicit returns 5.44157ns/day, implicit 111.249ns/day.
EDIT: D'oh, CPU was still folding. Take two: explicit 33.2717 ns/day, implicit 112.311 ns/day.

Re: Project 8900 WORK_QUIT (404)
Well, temp drops and a reinstall with the 0.0.52 core haven't helped; it's still returning a WORK_QUIT for every p8900, which has been all it's getting as of late, and the GPU temp hasn't been out of the upper 60s. I'll have a chance to check it out with FAHBench later today.

Re: Project 8900 WORK_QUIT (404)
Heh, no prob. I've completed a clean reinstall - I selected 'install only for me' this time, and it dropped the data directory in %AppData%/Roaming/FAHClient - hopefully that's close enough. I'll have to wait until later to run FAHBench, but in the meantime we'll see if the new core makes any differ...

Re: Project 8900 WORK_QUIT (404)
I did, but I can try it again via a complete reinstall. I also knocked the CPU slot's thread count from 4 to 3; it ran a complete p8900 shortly thereafter which ended in a WORK_QUIT again.I also stopped the process and deleted the core to force a new download

Re: Project 8900 WORK_QUIT (404)
Dropped temps down to 59-60C at the moment and still getting WORK_QUIT on every single p8900. Is there driver revision that's getting better results?

Re: Project 8900 WORK_QUIT (404)
Thanks for the tips. When I got my current case (moved from an Antec 900 to a Fractal Design Define XL R2), I did notice an increase in GPU temps, even though I'm running fans in both available front intake positions same as before (not sure where the stock Fractal Design fans rank in terms of perfo...

Project 8900 WORK_QUIT (404)
I'm starting to run out of ideas as to why my Radeon 7970 doesn't seem to be able to successfully return any p8900 work units since it started folding on core_17. The units all run to completion and then appear to conk out with a WORK_QUIT (404) message right about the time they'd otherwise be uploa...

Re: Catalyst 13.1 drivers are out
I tried a 13.2 driver install with my 7970, but the GPU usage was pegged around 85%, instead of 92-99% as before. Uninstalled and performed a driver cleaning again, using the basic steps I detailed earlier in the thread, and reinstalled but skipped installing the included APP SDK and installed APP S...
