Re: Project: 5759 (Run 4, Clone 257, Gen 22)

deleting the core didn't help, so deleted the work folder and all the current files. re-downloaded and configged, cool, PPD instantly went from 1500 to 3500 with the same 5761 WU. I'll blame it on a passing cosmic ray. Now, if I could get it back up to the 5700 it was doing before this latest round ...

Re: Project: 5759 (Run 4, Clone 257, Gen 22)

I'm wondering why my 8800 went from 5700PPD on the typical nvidia WUs to 1500PPD on this one.
So, any bright ideas on why I lost 4,000PPD on this deal?

Re: Project: 5759 (Run 4, Clone 257, Gen 22)

there's only one GPU client on this machine. I don't understand your reply, I wasn't claiming I didn't get credit for it and that is the correct ID for this machine and client. I'm wondering why my 8800 went from 5700PPD on the typical nvidia WUs to 1500PPD on this one. I do have another machine run...

Project: 5759 (Run 4, Clone 257, Gen 22)

Is this a known bum WU?

I'm trying to not whine about points but this has taken my 8800 from 5700 to 1700 PPD? Is that expected?

Re: FahMon (multi-platform app to monitor various F@h clients)

well, since my post of 11/16 the CPU spike has gone from 25 secs to 40 secs and the idle memory usage gone from 12/11 to 21/20 Mem/VMem. maybe a little memory leak? during the refresh it's increasing about 9 - 10MB on both Mem and VMem. Still 2.3.4.

Re: FahMon (multi-platform app to monitor various F@h clients)

finally got back to the computer, long day. First let me correct what I said last night. I'm using an SSH connection to manage/admin the ubuntu 8.1 folder, but the linux client monitoring is actually done via SMB, not SSH. I've got a drive mapped to a samba share on the linux box, add the clients in...

Re: FahMon (multi-platform app to monitor various F@h clients)

I have a similar setup to KE1AH, monitoring one local GPU2 and a remote GPU2 and SMP over an SSH connection (same LAN). Mine's a dual core AMD.2.1 with 2GB, XPP. It's new fresh clean install of 2.3.4 from last night. When it does the auto-reload it drives the processor core it's on to 100% for about...

Re: Samba problems [SOLVED]

all files under /home/tom, which includes all the F@H stuff. I haven't tried the CD, but it will probably be accessible. Don't need it though. dunno why I didn't blow it off.

Re: Samba problems [SOLVED]

here's the actual text being used in my smb.conf file. this is the result of running the testparm -s on the file. testparm -s strips out all the comments, leaves the stuff actually being used. [global] workgroup = 20310 server string = %h server (Samba, Ubuntu) interfaces = 127.0.0.0/8, eth0 map to ...

Re: Samba problems [SOLVED]

I need to get off my duff and do the parm thing, it'll eliminate most of the conf file and keep the lines actually used. Maybe I can get time this afternoon.

Re: Samba problems

Jeez, what a dummy I am sometimes. Hyperlife is the writer of the guide, I've been erroneously crediting KE1HA. Maybe I'll try getting more then 4 hours sleep someday. Sorry to both of you.
