Re: bad Work Units 6503 (3, 189, 41) and 6511 (0, 94, 11)

toTow said: I haven't run any diagnostics lately, no. I can take it down and run memtest86+ for a while. But since everything else runs fine (and I usually have uptimes of 30-60 days whenever I get a kernel update causing me to reboot) I'd think it's probably not some hardware issue. but it could b...

Re: 171.67.108.13 not connecting to Work Server

Because it did. Whatever happens after is out of your hands.

Code: Select all

assign.stanford.edu CNAME	vsp10v-vz00.stanford.edu
vsp10v-vz00.stanford.edu	A	171.67.108.200
assign2.stanford.edu	CNAME	vspg6-vz7.stanford.edu
vspg6-vz7.stanford.edu	A	171.64.65.121
be patient, blah-blah-blah

Re: Getting ID from AS:

I've made a set (seemingly complete) of experiments and I'm proud to report: removing execute permissions (on directory!) and starting client (with no options) results in 'permission denied' from shell; removing write permissions (on directory!) whatever way (either rights or owner) and starting cli...

Re: Project: 10005 WU completed a 52%

Look, my inquiry wasn't about credit. I'd wondered if I upload shit. That's past perfect because now I'm banned from protomol and that's not my problem any more.

Re: Getting ID from AS:

Me wonders how loosing permissions (had you set them to 0777?) could affect client's ability to speak to assign.stanford.edu?

And one more -- wrap yours logs in 'code' tags (that means: welcome to the forum!) :)

Re: No appropriate work server was available

+1 I've reread FAHwiki and then gone through '-configonly'. Thus I'm sure configuration doesn't asks this: O: Set -advmethods flag always, requesting new advanced scientific cores and/or work units if available (no/yes) [yes] --- Opening Log file [February 27 16:50:49] # Linux Console Edition ######...

Then, please, the next time elaborate to be more verbose in your statements. I consolidate with 7im in understanding of your post (this one).

Re: Why was I in team FTL?

A-ha! Then conspiracy theorists are defeated! Again! (who that could be? me?) Then there's a signal "to stop requesting work units". Pleased to know. What else signals there are? And how exactly that "identification" happens? How would knowing that information help you to be mor...

Re: Project: 10005 WU completed a 52%

Then since it "finished the unit" shouldn't the full credit be granted instead of a prorated portion for these specific WUs? (Somebody's got to play Devil's Advocate here!) An unknown Devil's Advocate should check out this evidence: [13:32:47] + Attempting to get work packet [13...

Re: May I use Fah logo???

I wouldn't say "pity". It's unsurprising. In fact, what we need is a work-around. Is it possible to provide crunchers with an image they could use for "<img>" element? (look, placing buttons around is usual behaviour these days.)

...snip I think, that they (who they could be?) zeroed FTL once the very last time and now don't count those contributions at all. Although, I believe, those contributions are accepted. Misinformed is not the same as spreading FUD. For example, clients that have been identified as malicious borgs a...
