Which version of Linux
This thread has two parts. First off, I've been experimenting with multiple different Linux derivatives over the past few weeks(Everything from Ubuntu to Zorin OS to Scientific Linux) and can't help but wonder what others are using for their systems. The second part, which command-line Linux derivat...

Re: Live USB OS poll (select one Deb & one RHEL deriv.)
ok, should have known this ahead of time. Simply copying and pasting files from one usb drive to another does not copy a LiveUSB, you must also write an MBR (Master Boot Record) to the USB drive. So this project is delayed for awhile (possibly indefinitely). Still looking for ways to make running F@...

Re: Live USB OS poll (select one Deb & one RHEL deriv.)
Just to let you guys know this project is not dead, I'm just too busy with schoolwork to focus much on F@H.

Re: FAHJ on laptop will not install
6.23 Windows XP/Vista/7/2003/2008 System tray (Systray) client installer with optional viewer ? I don't think that is meant to run with -smp parameter (I could be wrong). Try taking it off and seeing if the client will run as an Uniproccesor client. [Additionaly try removing the passkey temporarily ...

Re: New to ATI GPU folding... could use some help
If I'd like to reboot my machine will F@H client lose it's place or will it pick up where it left off before you rebooted? Proper procedure is to hit the big Pause button and wait for the slots to show "Ready" (as opposed to running), as this means they've been stopped properly. Even if y...

Re: New to ATI GPU folding... could use some help
You can check whether the GPU is being starved of stuff in needs from the CPU by checking the sensors on GPU-Z. In the ideal situation the Load should be 100%. If its not see if allocating an additional core lets it reach 100% load. I'm using MSI afterburner which shows both GPU cores simultaneousl...

Re: Project: 5738 (Run 0, Clone 635, Gen 542)
This WU might be "tricky" as it failed on some donors while it folded on another donor. Personally, I have never read nor experienced a full system crash by a bad WU. However, if it was an unstable overclock then it might be possible. In both the FAHlogs, I can't see any error messages. A...

Excuse the many posts, that's just my style.
Running the WU right now at maximum speed. CPU @ 44*C, GPU @ 61*C.
I'm having GPU-Z also write to a log file.

Project: 5738 (Run 0, Clone 635, Gen 542)
Just had a system crash while running Project: 5738 (Run 0, Clone 635, Gen 542) on GPU2. I was watching Flash video while error occurred. I'll try again while monitoring temp in GPU-Z. Normally I run GPU2 with 85% processor allocated to bottleneck the GPU to also run at 85%. This error occurred at 1...
