Re: My Points Stink
Welcome to life folding on older hardware cclanr :) haha I've got the standard CPU console client running on my old's PC and it's lucky to make 1,000 PPW (points per week).. whereas i also run 2 PS3s which make 1,000 PPD (points per day) each! so a whole week of folding points wise on my computer is...

Re: move points to new user
I'd like to see a more involved Statistics system with username logins and team logins etc. so some of this sorta stuff can be eventually done. I know it's picky, but i hate 'unclean' team lists, where there is heaps of useless typo'd usernames etc. .. just looks crap. This would then let users add ...

Re: OpenCL - GPU client and MacOS X?!
I think the main issue on the Mac side is that people are just not buying the Mac Pro desktops we need for folding anymore, they buy laptops and iPhones. And I doubt the iPhone will be a great 24/7 folding platform any time soon ;) No reason why people can't and don't fold on MacBooks.. i know i do...

Re: project 2681 = 25403 point
call me dumb.. but can't these sorta work units be 'cut down to size' ? Like i would think it'd be better to have work units that take less than a day to process continually being returned rather than large work units which only increase the chance of it not being returned (errors during processing....

Re: OpenCL - GPU client and MacOS X?!
There will likely be CUDA and CAL for OSX, so we'll use those. My plan is to get the Windows versions running well before thinking about Linux & OSX. That's understandable because thats where the majority of folders are, but i think Snow Leopard's new set of technologies could really spur on a ...

Re: Environmental Impact and Cost
The PS3 uses 350W, if used all night to process the Folding@home, at 8 hours a night, the pS3 would require 1,022W a year which would cause over 1tonne of CO2 to enter the atmosphere and cost each user $185 (AUD) per year. If you've read the user agreement, you'll notice that you won't even be reco...

Re: 100,000 points per day folding beast
I'll be investing in GPU folding technology when power usage comes down by a fair bit. I know that running my 2 PS3s at the moment at about ~125W each isn't really good PpDpW.. but its the total wattage i'm really worried about. I wouldn't like to have a 24/7 computer drawing any more than 300W.
