Re: CORE_OUTDATED (110 = 0x6e)

Yep, that fixed it, I've started completing lots of those WUs. Thanks!

CORE_OUTDATED loop, win7, gtx 7xx

Hi all, so I was thrilled to hear about the new gpu WUs, but I'm having some problems with them. On a couple machines, I'm seeing this in my log file: 01:31:04:WU02:FS01:Downloading core from http://www.stanford.edu/~pande/Win32/AMD64/NVIDIA/Fermi/Core_17.fah 01:31:04:WU02:FS01:Connecting to http://...

Re: gpu types switched

Hey, just an update, I got the slots set up as advanced without any cuda or opencl indicies, and although the 770 slot is still misidentified as a 520, it's now getting 8900 WUs with core 17 and generating ~85k ppd, so that's much better. Definitely nice to see the high ppd, I'll have to recalculate...

Re: gpu types switched

I may have made things more complicated for myself, but there you go. So anyway, I figured if I was going to uninstall FAH, then I'd take the opprotunity to upgrade the machine, so now it's the single slot gt 520 providing the video, a gtx 560 ti I pulled from another machine, and the gtx 770. FAHBe...

Re: Help with GTX460 and 8800GT

Hey PantherX, thanks for the detailed steps. One question, I can see how you get the gpu index, but how do you get the opencl and cuda indicies? Thanks again for the help!

gpu types switched

Hi all, so I just got a gtx 770 to replace a couple of 460s, but it's not going so well. First off, I have a gt 520 to drive my monitor, and I don't fold on it, so the gtx 770 is unconnected to any video. So in FAHControl, (7.3.6) it shows the gt 520 and the gtx 770, but when I shut down the gt 520,...

Re: Project: 6801 (Run 4394, Clone 1, Gen 2)

I also have a gpu down because of this WU. Trying to downclock it to see if I can get it working, but given the reports here, this just seems like a bad wu. It's troubling, because I keep deleting the work folders and all that stuff, and it keeps downloading it again. Guess I'll see what else I can ...

Thanks for the tip, with the machine id changed I'm back folding bigadvs again.

Re: Project: 6900 (Run 5, Clone 19, Gen 10)

I've had some trouble with this one too recently, seems to die on 0% due to client-core communications error, 0xc000005. It then downloads fahcore_a3.exe again, then it downloads 5,19,100 again, then it dies again, and then it starts hitting 130.237.232.141 and says that all attempts to get work fai...

Re: Curious, why are points so important to some?

From what I've been able to understand about the project, the more points you have, the more science you've helped with. Now obviously, it's not a super objective system, so it's constantly being adjusted, and that can lead to some griping about inconsistencies that pop up. And sure, it gets to be c...

Re: Suggestions for v7

@7sim - No, I have no inside info, I basically read the same blog you posted and made the assumptions I did, sorry if I led you to believe that I have more information. Perhaps 'heard' isn't the verb I should have used. I was more tentative about the suggestion just in case it was already a feature ...

Re: Suggestions for v7

What? OK, quoting from the blog entry you linked to... The first versions will not have everything that donors have asked for, but there will be some significant changes, such as the integration of classic, SMP, and GPU clients, the ability for a single client to handle all of these (eg multi-core +...

Re: Suggestions for v7

I don't really know what features the current thing has now, but I have heard that it uses some kind of gui to manage the clients. If that's the case, then the feature I'd really like is a way to set a client to shutdown after it finishes up the current WU. So basically, a way to set a client to -on...

Re: GPU server status 171.67.108.21, 171.64.65.71,171.67.108.26

I'm seeing this too, I have 7 gpu clients all with messages like this: [20:21:11] - Attempt #10 to get work failed, and no other work to do. Waiting before retry. [21:04:01] + Attempting to get work packet [21:04:01] - Connecting to assignment server [21:04:02] - Successful: assigned to (171.67.108....

Re: Is it just me or are the Stats not updating?

Yeah, I'm not seeing any updates either, if this keeps up I'm going to wind up with 1/3rd of the number of points for the day I usually get. I hope it gets straight soon, if the points are piling up it's going to be a hell of a jump when they get it going again.
