For reference, the FAHMon utility has a dedicated help thread in the 3rd party tools section of the forum. The utility author monitors the thread, and responds very quickly.
That said, you want to point fahmon at the location where the data files are stored, not the executable (when using the systray client)...assuming you are using the GPU client... (other clients will have a slightly different client folder name)
XP: "C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Folding@Home-gpu2"
Vista: "C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Folding@Home-gpu2"

For the console version, you can point FahMon to the path of the folder containing the executable. All console clients store their work files with the executable.

You need the folder of the executable. For example, I have an SMP client (a console client) running out of C:\fah . Therefore, I would put in the Location field "C:\fah" (without the quotes). If you copied the executable's own path (not the folder), you can just remove the executable name from the path.

Click on the button with the three little dots ... and browse to the folder where the console client is installed. Then click okay.
