I was thinking, wow it is good I am helping people with F@H. But how does it work? I didn't really understand the video.

That's a good start. I don't think I can best the explanation of the people involved If it's to technical for you, I'm inclined to say, if you don't understand it, do you really need to understand to have trust? Allot of donors don't know the how's and why's, though the one's here on the forum tend to be more involved and commited and as such have spend some more time reading all those documents and pages. But even those who didn't still commit their resources to the project because they trust the judgement of those who did

It's not related to FAH, but there's downloadable graphics game called Foldit that lets you try to fold proteins manually. That'll give you an idea of some of the problems the software faces.

Please note that playing FoldIt slows down the fah client.
