hmmm. Can we really say that obesity is an epidemic? Doesn't that imply that it is a contagious disease? Doesn't that absolve us from a responsibility to control our own weight?
It's certainly socially contagious. If I have lunch with fat people, I gain weight; if I exercise with athletic people, I loose weight.

Okay, my sister in law was diagnosed with colon cancer and was given a few months to live about 3 years ago. But right now she is facing yet another round of chemo and even though she has suffered so much the past 3 years she has remarkably kept her spirit and joking. She would like to find a cancer support group so that she can talk to others who actually don’t know what she is feeling. Is there such a group that you have known with?

Without knowing where your sister-in-law lives, we can't suggest anything specific but there are cancer support groups in almost every moderate sized city. Check with the local Cancer Society and the local hospitals.
