Personal Statistics Page

When I view my progress on the Personal Statistics Page I see that I have 5 active processors in the last 7 and 50 days. However, I only have the software running on 3 computers (one instance on each computer). Anyone know why the stats page says I have 2 additional processors?
So far I have 8 work units completed. I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

Apparently you're not folding under the name NevadaJake so I don't have any way to help you.

The active processor count can be a little misleading at times. It's actually a count of the clients that have been used during the time frame.
For example, if you started using the GPU client and changed to the smp or uniprocessor client thus changing the machineID then the count for the past 7 days would be 2 even though it's the same computer.
It should be accurate after 7 days of no changes in the clients used.

Thanks for the quick reply. I wasn't aware that we should create the same forum name as our Folding name, or that a real Admin would even respond to me
At any rate, I will pm you my username.
EDIT: thanks for the tips bollix47 ^^^

You can post your Username here ... there's nothing confidential (I guess), so a Mod could help you too

Alrighty, I just switched my username to match the one I use here - NevadaJake in both places. I guess at this point my MU count will be starting over and also the number of active CPUs will be restarting as well. Thanks for the help everyone.

Sorry, I didn't mean that you needed to change either your forum name or your folding name -- only that I couldn't help you because I didn't know your folding name. Some people choose to use the same name, and I tried assuming that and didn't get any where. You're welcome to use any name you choose in either place. In fact, if you've changed your folding name, your points will not follow you so you may not want to do that.

Oh, goog point! Me too. That begun a month ago. I run two clients and am checking stats weekly. A month ago I've found I have 3 processors, then again, then 2. The previous week and now -- again 3.
What wonders me more is the number of completed units -- it doesn't match
Code: Select all
[07:03:16] + Number of Units Completed: 74
[07:03:17] - Preparing to get new work unit...
[07:03:17] + Attempting to get work packet
[07:03:17] - Connecting to assignment server
[07:03:19] - Successful: assigned to (169.230.26.30).
[07:03:19] + News From Folding@Home: Welcome to Folding@Home
[07:03:19] Loaded queue successfully.
[07:03:21] + Received work.
[07:03:21] + Closed connections

[07:03:21] + Processing work unit

[07:03:21] Core found.
[07:03:21] Working on Unit 01 [January 3 07:03:21]
and
Code: Select all
[03:10:18] + Number of Units Completed: 208
[03:10:18] - Preparing to get new work unit...
[03:10:18] + Attempting to get work packet

And the stats page says I've done 288. (under name -- whynot_00)

Hmmm...
I haven't checked my stats page on the Stanford server for a while, but I just found
Active CPUs within 50 days 1221
I might have that many WUs posted in that time, but certainly not that many CPUs! I run 6 CPU clients, 1 SMP, and 1 GPU. All are Win clients, and all but 2 CPU clients are v6.23. I've rebooted several of the machines a few times each, but not excessively
Any ideas why the high number?

It looks like it must have healed itself.
It now shows:
Active processors (within 50 days) 11
Active processors (within 7 days) 7

ive noticed when ive had to reinstall the client or even do a system restore it changes the client in some way that it thinks its been reinstalled and shows up as a new processor

In WIndows, the UserID is stored in the registry. If that key is removed, a new value will be assigned and it will be treated as a new machine.
Conceivabley, if you clone your OS to new hardware, you might then use both sets of clients and you MUST get a new UserID assigned. If the clients are inactive, they'll eventually time-out and disappear from your client count.
If you plan on installing a fresh copy of Windows and don't want this to happen, export that registry key and import it on to the new system before you start FAH.

I have noticed that my "active processors" went from 2 to 3 over the last seven days, yet I have neither added a new folding machine nor changed anything about my operating system or folding client. I will observe until next Wednesday to see if it goes back to two, but could something be happening on the Stanford servers rather than on our machines?

Well, how many clients do you actually run, and does each of them complete a WU every week?
