I was discussing the Amber Work Units with bonus points that came out a while back with a friend and wanted to learn more about this core.

I was reviewing the AMBER FAQ and discovered it was last updated on October 28, 2004

http://www.stanford.edu/group/pandegrou ... AMBER.html

It talks about using SSE2 in the future, but i was unable to locate any updated information on the subject

Is there still work in getting SSE2 or even the newer SSE3 / SSE4 into a future version of the Amber Core?

I do not know about current status of AMBER core, but as much I have read it is in full production mode at the moment, with no major core improvements currently being in development. Easiest for you is to check out some AMBER project owner (http://fah-web.stanford.edu/psummary.html) and fire a PM/e-mail to that person about it.

AMBER in FAH and the official AMBER project are two different things.

I suppose an estimate of a 10% speed increase might have put support for SSE2 on the back shelf.
