Updating cores on your computer

I don't know whether I'm imagining this or not, but the other day, my laptop had a "mini-crash" and when it rebooted and I looked at the f@h log file, it said that f@h had deleted the old AMBER core, and downloaded a new AMBER core (the code is below). Now my laptop seems to be folding a little faster than on the old AMBER core. So, i'm just wondering if it is an idea to delete cores on my hard drive and let f@h update them, or just wait until f@h thinks it's time to update the core of it's own accord.

Look forward to your replies, and here is the log file after my mini-crash when it loaded a new core

Check the core version when it got engaged subsequently. If the version is Version 1.03 (September 7, 2005) which I think it will be, then nothings changed. The WU EUEd catastrophically after the restart, was deleted and the core was re-downloaded as there were 2 back-to-back EUEs to flush out possible errors in the core.

Did you have other processes using the CPU significantly before it crashed? Its possible that FAH has more resources now and is faster.

Unless instructed by a FAH researcher's post, its not necessary to delete cores manually (I've only seen this happen while testing new cores especially for the GPU client). If the WU needs a new core, then it'll automatically request an update. Else, even if there is an updated core in the wild, an older one would be just as good.
