News from Folding

Everytime one of my clients downloads a new Work Unit, I see the following:
[13:48:37] + News From Folding@Home: Welcome to Folding@Home
Why isn't this feature utilized with a message that acutally is helpful. Such as to tell us when it is time to download a new client version, etc.?
Someone had the foresight to make the message output. Where's the followthrough to use it?

It wouldn't be that terribly useful - most users would still never see these messages. Users would have to read the log file, or if you actually keep Console windows visible, look at it right when the client is inbetween WUs. Perhaps it was added with some kind of debugging messages in mind, but we never see it in use. (Maybe the alpha testers do?)

True, we have been trained to ignore this unchanging and at present, useless message,
but I think you error in your assertion that just because you never look at the logs, no one else does.
I don't think "welcome to Folding@Home" would be a message designed for debugging or alpha testing.
Here's a suggestion, let's let the people (the F@H developers) get a word in before we get too cluttered with our (the users) guesses.
There is no reason for anyone to get defensive at my question/suggestion. It seems legitimate to me and dismissing it out of hand seems inappropriate unless it is Stanford saying they don't care about this. (Which would answer my question)
