Sponsorship and Donations question

Hey guys

I just joined up but have been folding for about a year now.

I am currently trying to a get a few rigs funded strictly for folding. I was wondering what Standfords position is on using the title "Folding for the Cure" or using the logo or even a completely new hand drawn logo. I wanted to design a few T shirts to help fund these Folding Rigs. I am trying to avoid any legal issues.

I could not find and contact info regarding this on the Folding@Home site, so I hope I am not out of line posting this here. Any help would be great.

The best bet in this case is to send a email to Vijay Pande (email sent in PM).

He is the director of the project so he would have the last say about this.

The Stanford and Folding@home logos are copyright of Stanford University, so they can't be used w/o permission (and it's a complex legal situation to get permission). If you make your own logo, I don't see any conflict, although you should make it clear that you are not affiliated with Stanford University.

I'm going to be making up a new design for my team logo (current one included below) and i wanted to inlcude the Folding@Home official logo on it, maybe in a corner or something. The thing is i was thinking about sort of 'celebrating' my team's 2nd birthday thats in November, by getting some team logo stickers made up, and possibly getting sum silicone wrist bands and custom usb sticks later on done as well. Would i be able to use the folding@home logo in this situation?

Thanks for replying Pande! That clears up my questions. I will be sure to post the designs here. I'm a member from Overclock.net and there are a number us there trying to get the word out about folding. I see no reason more people can not be more informed. My goal is to run 4 rigs (all I have room for)

each rig will contain the following
AMD QuadCore (I'm an AMD fanboy) :D
4 8800GT's or better

That will be roughly 20,000-25,000ppd a day per rig and roughly 2,400,000ppd per month if my numbers are correct.

Hello!
Is there any "Support FAH" logo (or such) ?
( I recreated one in SVG, but since this is my first post, I cannot post any link :) )

Not that I know of.

Welcome to the FoldingForum, Sukender.

For newbies with insufficient posts, we suggest
http://myurl.com
which seems to work, or the older trick is http :// myurl . com (and tell them to leave out the spaces.

Thanks, but I already posted : viewtopic.php?f=16&t=5724 :)
Talking about that, do you think the "Support F@H" SVG logo should be on the web site? (you could answer there...)
