1) Can I Install a second client and force it to use the second core of my CPU, or am I better off uninstalling and going with the SMP core (My software skills are crap, I'm not sure I can configure the SMP beta client, to be honest)
2) Is there any way to force the client to run the smaller Tinker cores only? Back in the day (several years ago) there was a way to do this for slower machines.

1) Yes you can run a second client. The SMP core is an option, too, but if you're not sure you're ready to tackle a rather complex beta version, two clients are a good approach. The WIKI tells how to do that and although it's showing the V5 client, it works the same way with the v6.20 client. If you have troubles, ask for help.
2) Tinker has not been used for several years, but the question is a good one. If the slower machines have dial-up connections or have limited RAM, there is a setting for SMALL WUs. If the only difference is CPU speed, then it's not that important since the ones that take longer to process also have longer deadlines.
3) If you have an older version of Windows, you may wish to install V5 (win2k) or even V4 (Win9x). They still work, but have fewer features than the latest version. For WinXP or later, use the V6.2 client.
