Hello, i'd like to know if this programs works better on linux or windows. Also I want to know if there is a patch or something that makes the program use the multiple-cores of the pc. I hope to hearing from you, thanks.

It works on either Windows or Linux. Linux would be a better choice if you are after using the SMP client (multi core folding), or Windows if you want to fold with a graphics card (ATI 29xx/3xxx/4xxx or Nvidia GF 8, 9, GTX series cards). Either OS can fold using the single cpu client.

Maybe have a look at the How-To's on the WIKI.

It's not recommended but you can run the SMP client on dual core. I would suggest that you run it with Linux because Linux is more optimised to SMP processing due to it's history as a server OS than Windows. Some WUs works about 10 % faster on Linux than on Windows.

There are a script called finstall which works rather well, when installing on Linux. Check out the how to's here:
http://fahwiki.net/index.php/How_tos#Linux
when you execute the finstall script (./finstall) add -smp behind like this ./finstall -smp

Oh and one more thing, you need 64 bit Linux to make it work, but you need 32 bit libraries installed. How to get them installed is very distro spesific, so I can't help with that.
