Problem logging in to my account

I just upgraded to client version 8.5.5 and when I try to log in or reset my password, I get error

DB:1643: Login not found

for the email address I'm certain I would have used back in April 2020 when I started. I know it's silly, but I would like to keep the credit for 114,036,130 points, and my team affiliation.

To be honest, I'm not 100% certain I ever created a login -- though I did create the Folding Forum login, so I think I probably did.

Anyway -- I'd appreciate a link to the appropriate FAQ, or whatever suggestions y'all have.

The v7 client did not have accounts to log into, this is new to the v8 client. I would have to look up which point version added the feature. SO you would be creating a new account, no password or account would exist on the server for you if you just upgraded from v7.

The download page for the client does include a link to the v8 user guide. Much of what you would need would be there.

I found in the settings that I could copy-paste the passkey from the v7 client, and the v8 client seems to recognize me from that.

Thank you much for the explanation of "accounts" being new with version 8. I will create an account, and look at the v8 user guide.
