Hi all,

I recently fired up folding again after a decade+ long absence. Last I folded, the rage was using 4P opteron builds for the... bigadv units? If I remember correctly.

Anyhow, back to present day. I fired up my 3090, set up with my old username and team, plus requested my passkey since I have no record of it anymore. I have submitted 10+ units, 80%+, etc, but don't seem to be getting bonus credits. What could be wrong?

One thing, I may have requested my passkey with an old email back in the day. Ie, not the same email I got my current passkey with. Could that be the issue?

What email you used will not matter, it is only recorded so that passkey requests using the same email and username will get the same passkey.

Using the apps available here - https://apps.foldingathome.org/ - I can see your recent WUs have not received any bonus. Checking your bonus status there are 6 different passkeys associated with the username Fever, only one of them is qualified for bonus points. I assume that is your original passkey from years ago. You can check with your current passkey to see what the status is, I can't see what the passkeys were.

Other thing to check is that you didn't copy any leading or trailing spaces when entering the passkey. That will cause it to not work.

Thanks for the reply and the info. Double checked for leading or trailing spaces, and that isn't the issue. Using your link, I can see that I'm slightly below 80% with this passkey. I have no clue why or how there are so many expired work units:

So, I suppose I simply need to keep submitting valid work until I cross the 80% threshold? Or is getting a new virgin passkey an option?

Edit: Will just keep using this passkey, it will cross the 80% threshold in 5 work units. Wish I would've noticed this before submitting 252 work units this last week, though. At least the science is still valid!

It would take about 25 completed WUs to get back over the 80%. If you want, you can get a new passkey by using a different email or username in the form. The username used on the passkey request does not have to match the name you fold under. Then just 10 WUs finished and 80% completion rate folded with the new passkey will qualify you for bonus points

As for the non completed WUs, the reason may show up in the logs, that includes older logs that the client keeps by default. After a number of logs have been saved the oldest get deleted. It could be from a client bug, or it could be a problem with your configuration.

Ah jeaz, that's an embarrassing math fail on my part... Time to go make a second coffee. Will go ahead and request a new passkey with another email address and my actual username I fold with. I assume it'll then be as simple as updating my passkey in the account settings section of the web interface? No extra steps required?

Yes, you should just need to update the passkey. Try to do it with any current WUs finished, the stats check if the passkey the WU was downloaded with matches the upload passkey. If they don't match, the WU doesn't count towards the bonus. It used to be less restrictive, but some figured out how to abuse that and they tightened requirements.

You should also upgrade to 8.5.3 beta.
It fixes a problem with account settings not immediately being applied.

Cheers for that last tip, just switched back to the borked passkey and will use the new one one this unit completes and I resume work.

Bonus question time!

I've added another rig; each machine can see the other exists through the web dashboard, but both see each other offline. Do I need to enable remote access somewhere? I can't find any setting for it. Both have the same token in my account...

Check that all system clocks are correct.

HFM does not support v8.

You don't need HFM for V8.
V8 has HFM partial functionality

Doesn't HFM also help generate html pages for your fah farm?
