Hello,
I haven't participated in FAH for years and I'm trying to start back up. It seems that my old account was deleted so I've tried to re-create my account using the old username and email address. Unfortunately although I was able to get into the forum, I never got the activation email for my actual FAH account. I can't find any way to request a re-send of the account activation email. Can anyone help? I've tried the password reset request but it still tells me to click on the activation email which I never received.
I've checked spam folders and they're empty.
Thanks for any help!

Re: No verification email
Old FAH did not have accounts.
What email provider are you using? Some providers are being blocked

Re: No verification email
My email provider is earthlink using a legacy mindspring address. They passed the forum email verification through just fine. I've seen them silently block other emails before but not this.
Regarding previous accounts... I can look up my old username (flensr) and see my past FAH credits. Not sure how that works without accounts...? Anyhow, I'll try to set up the account using a different email address and maybe that'll work.

Re: No verification email
foldingforum and foldingathome are not on the same domain and are not governed under same filters, etc.flensr wrote: ↑Sat Oct 11, 2025 5:44 pm My email provider is earthlink using a legacy mindspring address. your previous stats are just stats, and not account stats. Accounts have been introduced couple of years ago with new fahclient. since I don not know what earthlink are using, it is entirely possible they are the culprit, that you did not receive the verification email. And this is not earthlink's fault by any means. If you have gmail account or any other different email. try with that

Re: No verification email
Forum email server is different from the F@h email server for accounts, so your experience getting the forum email verification through is not very applicable.
To repeat, there never were accounts before v8. You used an username, that was not registered in any manner or form. In fact anyone could use the same username, in my case at least 2 others used variants with different capitalization. The only thing that had a registration database of a sort were the passkeys. You applied for a passkey, and the username and email address were used to create a unique passkey. Those values were stored, applying again with the same email and username would get you sent the same passkey But when you used your passkey in the client, it did not matter whether or not the username you entered into the client matched that used to get the passkey.
Setting up an account is not mandatory, the client will work just fine with you entering your username, team, and passkey directly. The optional account allows you to connect to any of your running clients and monitor and control them remotely from another system browser while maintaining a secure connection. There are email services that block the F@h server email, I have had problems with my university account though MS Office services blocking its emails in the past. However my gmail account worked fine. In your case you may need to whitelist foldingathome.org.

Re: No verification email
I believe the verification emails are sent via Amazon SES

						Re: No verification email
I switched to a different email account and it worked.
Of course it turns out it doesn't matter right now, fiddling with FAH led me to discovering my AIO cpu cooler seems to have failed somehow so all computing is paused until I troubleshoot it. Hopefully it just needs new thermal paste but right now I'm throttling at 100C with just one core in use. Oops.
Thanks for the suggestions to try a different email provider. That helped.
