Crash and F@H program (Reinstalling).

I run the F@H program, v8.4.9 24/7. Always before when I had to reboot now and then (Window 10 64 bit system) the program would take up where it left off (check point). But after downloading and reinstalling the program, all the data seems to be lost after a reboot. Also, a yellow prompt on the program reads, "Unlinked". How do I fix this?

v8 requires your WUs to be paused before computer restart. Otherwise it will lose the progress after reboot. This is only the case in Windows.
To link your computer to your account, click on the cog looking icon from your folding at home web ui, and on the right hand side of your computer name field there is chain looking icon, click that to link it to the account

this behaviour is somehow frustrating.
Is it possible to hinder Windows from shutting down accidentally?

If windows is shutting down accidentally, your system is unstable.

Or Windows is auto rebooting on a patch Tuesday?

Did your data directory change in the reinstall?
