I just updated about an hour ago from 6.3.4 . Since I installed with the official Ubuntu packages updating was as easy as it gets.
Just got a core 26 to boot.

No official 9070 support.

Don't expect any miracles from it either. Plus, word of advice, do not update to latest and greatest in the future. If it ain't broke, don't fix it

I'm looking to see if those 2 projects in the other thread return to normal TPF. I don't care about new card support.I'd need mesa 25 and other frankenstein os stuff I'm done with that
I'm rocking a card that is still currently supported across multiple iterations of Rocm, an Officially supported OS with Ubuntu specific packages.
Plus I've been dealing with AMD cards on Linux since the FGLRX days so all I can say is,

Allons-y

Core26 fixes issues with the project, not rocm related ;)

Haha yep 6.4 is a refactoring not every wu so far has shown improvement. All the cruft they did away with makes it so that I'm using the same setting that I do under windows. I'm sure the new microcode on the amdgpu side has something to do with it.
Still waiting to get Projects 18238 18251..very curious to see if those are back to normal.

For Debian 12, should this be as simple as adding this to the sources to extend the guide ultimate v8 guide, just replacing the 6.3.4 with 6.4?

Code: Select all

deb [arch=amd64] https://repo.radeon.com/rocm/apt/6.4 jammy main
deb https://repo.radeon.com/amdgpu/6.4/ubuntu jammy main
