I've been away from F@H for quite a while. Loading up 8.4.9 everything looked normal and the stats crunchers at ExtremeOverclocking.com started showing my new WUs. However, that LOGIN button on the Web Control screen wouldn't let me log in. It wanted my "pass phrase". Reading the FAQ for 4.9 indicated I can generate one WHEN CREATING MY F@H ACCOUNT. However, there was no talk about how to generate one if you ALREADY had an account. Can anyone help me with this?

If you have been away from F@h for a while, most likely you do not have an account. Before they created this service for the v8 web control panel F@h didn't have registered accounts. Follow the directions from the User Guide linked on the Download page - https://foldingathome.org/guides/v8-4-client-guide/. Use any email address and passphrase, or let the Web Control generate that for you. An activation email will be sent to that address.

It is not required to have an account to login to the server. That is only needed for monitoring and controlling client installs on more than one machine or doing it remotely from another system using a browser.

I guessed that was the case and had tried to create a new one. However, the system responded that my email is already registered.

If the system responded in that way, then request a password reset with that email

Yes I have. And this is what I get when I put in my email address:

But THIS time instead of saying the email was already registered, it let me create a new account. So thank you to any and all who helped!

Now I just have to wait for the F@H email server to get around to sending me an email verification message.
