So I have an Apple trashcan here,
Have been running it for several weeks,
But I would also love for its gpus to also be used,
I even just installed some rocm thing, thirty something gigs,
Doesn’t help ah and yes I’m on Linux mint on it,
Says unsupported,
Any help?
I want to leave it for longer doing fah,
If gpus worked could be nice

P.s last time I’ve been running fah was a decade or two ago or something

Are the 2013 Mac Pro GPUs in the whitelist?

Running Linux was good first step, but I suspect you will not find drivers for the FirePro Dx00 series GPUs. AMD has been in the process of dropping full support with OpenCL support which is needed by F@h for older series cards, especially for operation under the Linux OSs. The GPU chips used for the cards they made for Apple are Pitcairn and Tahiti GCN 1st generation. Support lasted longer for Windows, but I would have to check to see if there are recent enough drivers. I find some information that the AMDGPU drivers do support GCN 1st gen GPUs, so you might give those a try. I also see that this requires enabling experimental support in the kernel, but that is from posts over 5 years ago.

Explicitly, they are not. But the FirePro Dn00 series cards are very similar to some W series cards sold around that time, maybe they share a PCI ID number.

If ROCm package works for them

Ofcourse I followed the steps in the link but it still says unsupported,
The command for seeing if opencl is installed does give something back now.
Been chatting with the chatbot on ddg about it.
Might post some of it later here.

So what’s up with the white list stuff?
If I look at the linked guide seems like it should work , but it isn’t.
So is it anything whitelisted or not? And where can I see it?

Be specific what is or not working.
For starters I need you GPU PCI ID. Then we will see

Had just one hour yesterday evening to fiddle on it, when I get home in the evening would have another hour will post what I find.
