F@H pausing itself?

When I come back to my PC in the morning, F@H is often paused even though I left it running. 'While on Battery' and 'Keep Awake' are both checked.

Still working the bugs out or am I missing something?

Logs would tell you what has happened. If fahclient web ui page has yellow borders around your resource, that means something failed, and failed enough for client to pause any further attempts to fail again.

You can search each individual Wu logs in web UI log section by entering Wu number (for example WU145) in to search bar. Post all the failed Wu logs here, please

Your system, or maybe just GPU is unstable.
Those WUs which you failed, someone else finished them successfully

The odd part is that I didn't change anything and it went from 23 consecutive complete to 22 fails out of 24 WU.

Your GPU (or other components) is unstable, please stop folding and make sure your system is 100% stable

What driver are you running? Is it from AMD website or from Microsoft. Please update to the latest driver from AMD website

Yep all the latest drivers. My 5700XT is watercooled and underclocked so it can run all day at 100% and hardly get above 50C. Stable should be the one thing it does well at this point.

Also it doesn't explain how it could be unstable for a few days, then perfectly stable for 5 days straight, and then back to unstable when nothing about the setup has changed.

It only takes one workload to trip something on your GPU.
I'm not aware of factory water cooled 5700xt, so I take it you done it yourself?
Quite often DYI water-cooling block installation can have negative affects, since sometimes some parts of the GPU is not getting enough cooling, and some parts of the card are not getting enough cooling. Like memory chips or VRMs.

Plus, underclocking has same risks as overclocking

The waterblock has pads for the VRMs. I can overclock the GPU and game for hours with double the power going thru the GPU without any heat issues. Your points all a decent guesses at possibilities, but the fact that the setup ran perfectly fine for 5 days straight without issue would seem to indicate that the setup is capable of being stable and the GPU isn't getting too hot.

Is there a way to pinpoint the cause of the instability?

? I didn't say it was. High loads and temperatures are often the cause of instability and I was simply explaining that neither of these are an issue with my setup. The fact there is a stability issue is obvious. I'm trying to figure out what the cause is. Other than F@H being unhappy, there are no other indications of instability.
