OK I am impatient and intrigued, is anyone using or trying to use any of the newly released NVidia GPUs?
Stories please.

RTX 5090 is in GPUs.txt file. We should get some numbers as soon as people are allowed to talk about its performance.

Waiting to hear something myself...

Someone in the discord channel is waiting to pick up a 5090 on the 8th.... So I will assume we will probably hear something at least by the 9th.

As apparently an incredibly lucky new owner, I am willing to talk ASAP, but for some reason FAH does not boost. So I'm looking at 5,288,988 at 630Mhz base clock...

Switch off any power saving things. There is some nonsense setting in Nvidia control panel

Thanks. That and a reboot fixed it. There you go, all stock:

Looks quite decent, actually. Given that my 4090 was doing less than 30m PPD.

Wow, that's some power...
I wonder what it will crunch on Ubuntu/Linux.

Probably 60mil ppd+? Then again it depends on project. And yeah, it's literally "some power"

Not sure I'm willing to stand the fan noise and pay 600 watts / hour

Curious what it would do if you started power limiting. I normally end up being at 70-80% power limit and only lose like 5% off the max performance.

See here, but strangely enough I don't need it now...? Maybe I was missing a reboot after driver installation.

Granted, I only waited a couple of frames, so not definitive, but at least it looks like performance doesn't drop drastically with a lower power limit:
p16525
Power limit:
104%: 57,781,649
90%: 57,220,001
80%: 56,768,219
EDIT: And just hit a new record with 104% power limit and an overclock: p16525, 65,694,141 PPD, 1m 08 s TPF. Unfortunately, most other projects can't fully utilise the card.

That's pretty darn fast... At most I'll only have a 5080, but I'll wait to see some of those numbers before I pull the trigger.

OK well that pretty impressive, not sure I am in the market for one of these yet but well done those who have them.
