Failed to create OpenCL context

SOMETIMES when i start a WU it doesn't even start but fails with "Failed to create OpenCL context".

My setup and drivers seem ok, because most times it works and does fold WUs.
I only found issues with "Failed to create OpenCL context" where people have problems getting their GPU to work with FAH at all, but that's not my case.

The failed WUs are then returned as faulty, what absolutely wrecks my bonus stats.

Just some minutes ago it again failed 2 WUs after each other but the third then startet folding:

Server side? So the FAH-Servers that deliver the work units?
How can the servers influence wether my graphics card can create an OpenCl context or not, if not the WUs themselfes are broken?
Shouldn't then have much more people the same problem?

I just don't understand it, but of course appreciate if this can be fixed, on whatever end. ;)

In other words, there'a a bug with Core 22, AMD and Linux combination. The server was incorrectly set up and was sending WUs to this combination. The server has been fixed to not do so anymore.

Yes, the servers that supply the WUs. Some folding cores and WUs have issues with certain AMD GPUs and the projects are (supposed to be) restricted from being assigned to AMD in these cases. But there has been a recurring problem where server side settings have been reverting to defaults or otherwise changing and allowing such assignments. I don't recall all of the details as currently I am not doing any GPU folding. But this has also had some effect on CPU folding such as too large WUs being assigned to Raspberry Pi systems for example. They are looking into why is going on with the server settings, and hopefully get those straightened out.

But here in your log the two WUs that failed were using the Core_22 folding core, the one that started running okay used Core_24.

Thank you both. That clarifies a lot for me.

So it's not an issue of my local system. I'm also folding with cpu-only on a different system and didn't have any issues.

Then i hope FAH will fix this soon and i can calculate back into bonus range. :D

It is not an issue on your end. core 22 is being phased out, and any remaining projects with that core are old ones. All new ones are being created for core 24 or later.

one core does not superseed another. there are projects which can only run on core 22 and others on core 23 or 24. Project started with core22, must finish with core 22
