A complete beginner with a few questions

Hi all,

First of all, sorry if my english is bad, as it isn't my first language.

I just started to fold today, and I was wondering, how PPD is measured. It says I get 9.3 million PPD, but is only if I let it fold from now on for the next 24 hours? Do I get it when I finished this project? And is the PPD generated by my CPU and GPU independent from one another aka if I would pause my GPU now I would still get the 619k points at the end of the day (or when the project is finished)?

Last but not least, is this the correct way to set up folding with my PC or would it be better to use all my CPU Cores and my GPU on one project?

Thanks in advance,
Sebastian aka DifficultInside :D

Hopefully this works with an image tag, I am not that accustomed to Forums.

If not, I have currently 22 CPU cores running for one project, and 1 CPU + my GPU for another. Thats all there is in the image.

Here is a FAQ about points : https://foldingathome.org/support/faq/points/

Some information are a bit outdated, but it should give you a better picture about how they are computed.

Hi, thanks!

And is it best to split my workload between CPU and GPU or if I just do everything with one project?

In my experience folding with CPU steals a slight bit of GPU performance 5~10%
GPU utilizes 1 or 2 CPU cores for folding
