win10 system clock bonkers
Posted: Wed Jul 27, 2022 10:36 am
i was messing around in the linux portion of a dual boot for a few hrs, and when I got back into windows and started folding, it took me a while to notice my clock was showing UTC for some reason. I had to manually hit the "update now" to time.msft button in the windows time & date settings even tho I've got it set to local time and have the auto syncing box checked. Seemed to do the trick, but then I noticed FahControl lost connection to local host. Checking the current log file, it seems to be chugging away normally, with the noticeable shift in timestamps of when I made the windows time adjustment. Since it's still folding, I'm reluctant to try anything for fear of some Bad Skew Time...? or something. Luckily I had it already on Finish so I can try a forced end task later (as the menu seems to no longer come up from systray icon nor does web-client connect either)
but if anyone has a solution to restoring my FahControl, or even maybe preventing my win10 Home time from going haywire to begin with, I'm all ears
To add more variables, this is also the system I use as the "Command" controller to monitor 3 other folding systems.
