GT710 no longer works

Hi! I have had a system (Win10, Intel i7, GT710) running for a few months with no problems. Now I have the message "Disabeld" on the graphics card. Is the GT710 no longer supported?
Thanks for the quick reply!

Can you post the first couple of hundred lines of your log.

When the FAH client starts before there is internet connection, it won't be able to get the GPUs.txt file, and disable the GPU. Pause folding, stop the fahclient process, and restart it. If that doesn't help, try removing GPUs.txt (from C:\ProgramData\FAHClient, if you're on Windows) after stopping faclient.

They are still supported (Kepler chip).
Did you install drivers from nVidia website ?

Your card uses a Fermi based micro-architexture, and is no longer supported. F@H requires both a 64 bit floating point math unit and support for OpenCL 1.2. Fermi does not support 1.2,, so is no longer supported. I would not invest in a replacement slower than a GT 1030, which is based on a much newer Pascal micro-architexture.

This one is not listed in GPUs.txt ... there are only 3 models based on GK208 chip.

Yes, I have. It has worked for a few months now it suddenly stopped. I have already reinstalled the drivers and de-installed and reinstalled the FAH client ...

The internet is stable ... I deleted the GPUs.txt, unfortunately that didn't work. The GPU is still disabled ...

That Fermi based GT 710 card is not listed in GPUs.txt, I don't think it ever was. There are 3 Kepler based GT 710 models, the only way we can tell which you have is by you providing the PCI ID number of the card. The Fermi based 710 is not even shown on the wikipedia page for nVidia cards. There is a GF119 based GT 705 listed. If you have a Kepler based GT 710 it should still work, but you may need to go to an older driver.
nVidia ended support for Kepler based GPUs in October, they ended support for the older Fermi cards a couple years ago. Legacy support may or may not include working OpenCL support on drivers released since then. Only security fixes will be provided for a couple more years.

Hi! The problem was apparently due to a firewall - changeover on the part of our IT. I now get work orders again and the graphics card as well. Unfortunately, the work orders can no longer be sent back. IT has already tried some settings, but I still get the error message:
Code: Select all
10:25:57:WU00:FS00:Trying to send results to collection server
10:25:57:WU00:FS00:Uploading 20.09MiB to 129.32.209.205
10:25:57:WU00:FS00:Connecting to 129.32.209.205:8080
10:26:27:ERROR:WU00:FS00:Exception: 10002: Received short response, expected 512 bytes, got 0
Which ports would have to be open in the firewall? It's a Fortinet.... Thanks for your help!

FAHClient acts as a standard browser and uses ports 8080 and 80 ...
If your firewall has DPI features (traffic inspection), that's what you have to disable ...

I don't think it's delisted because of not being compatible, but because of not being able to finish the WUs on time.
It's tough to do with a GT 730, but a 710 is way slower.
