When completing a work unit will folding restart automatically or do I have to manually hit the start folding button?

I ask because I completed my first WU but it didn't start on the next one

Normally, it will restart automatically. There are a couple of exceptions

First, if there are no work units available, which has been happening a lot recently, then the client will wait before trying to get more work. If there is still nothing available, it will wait even longer before it tries again. Eventually, though, it will get work and continue folding.

The other exception is if you stop the client from folding by telling it to finish and pause. In that case, it will remain paused until you manually unpause it, or restart your computer.
