I know it is against policy to reveal source code for FAH, But could we get some insight as to how individual wu's tax our hardware.
Case in point are the latest crop { 5101 & 5102 }. The point value for 5102 has been bumped, which is great. I'm looking to address the future, Wu's are only going to get bigger & more complex.

Is the next generation of wu's going to need much larger L2 Cache , like the 12 meg that a Q9450
has. Or would doubling up on ram do any good?

With the speed of changes and improvements coming, the answer today would be different from the answer for tomorrow. More CPU cores will always be better than more memory. Extra memory is not helpful, but enough is a requirement for good performance.

As you said, WUs will continue to get larger and more complex. Adjust accordingly, and to the number of cores in the system, and to the types of clients you want to run.
